Marketing and Communications Officer – For-Ethiopia
Location: Homebased
Hours: 7 hours per week with flexible dates and hours

About For-Ethiopia
For-Ethiopia is a UK registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable communities in Ethiopia. We work with local partners to deliver sustainable programs in areas such as education and children’s welfare and wellbeing. For-Ethiopia is a small Bristol based charity working in partnerships to make a real difference in the lives of rural girls, orphans and children in hardship and with special needs.
Job Description
We are seeking an Administrative Officer to join our team who would focus on our two years development strategy and supporting income generation. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving and developing the communication and marketing activities to existing donors and attracting new donors. You will have the ability to inspire supporters and
communicate the difference their support makes. This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference and to be part of a small, friendly team of trustees and volunteers who are passionate about improving lives of rural children in Ethiopia.
Key Responsibilities:
● Communications:
o Assist in creating and distributing various communications materials, such as newsletters, press releases and social media content.
o Creating content for website and social media channels.
o Work with the FR Manager to ensure all donations are acknowledged and donors thanked in a timely manner
o Respond to inquiries from donors, partners, and the public.
● Reporting:
o Assist in the preparation of regular reports, including donor reports, progress reports, and financial reports.
o Collect and analyse data to inform reporting and decision-making.
o Ensure accuracy and consistency in all reports.
● Administrative Support:
o Provide general administrative support.
o Maintain accurate records and databases.
o Assist with event planning and logistics when necessary
o Supporting Trustees and FR Manager with adhoc jobs and special projects as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
● Strong organisational and time management skills.
● Excellent attention to detail.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
● Demonstrable written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team manging deadlines and delivering to targets/objectives.
● Experience in a non-profit or charity setting is preferred.
● Experience of creating content for social media (desirable)
● GDPR knowledge

● Experience of, or an interest in, International Development
Terms of engagement
This job is one day a week. To be worked with flexible hours if needed.
For a fixed term contract of 6 months with three month’s probation period and with view to renew for a 12-month period or longer subject to funding. With an hourly rate of £20.
