Membership

SWIDN membership is open to any person or organisation who state they are working on the SDGs.

What is the network?

The South West International Development Network (SWIDN) supports and connects NGOs, civil society, think tanks, academics, consultants and private sector organisations to work more efficiently and collaboratively towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We are a registered charity. 100% of your membership fee is invested back into the network to help fund it's coordination and activities. We have a small team of two part timers, and a bigger team of volunteer trustees. We run all our training at cost to keep ticket prices accessible. We rely on the willingness of experts to share their knowledge for the learning and improvement of our sector. We pay when these experts are from the Global South, as we recognise their knowledge is our privilege. Our aim is to organise quality learning events, professional training, and inspiring networking opportunities online or at free venues across the South West. We partner wherever we have the opportunity and our values align, in order to reduce our costs. We work to continually improve the SWIDN website so that it acts as a valuable resource, supporting members and the wider public to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

We tier our membership fees against organisational income to ensure our micro members can afford to join us. If you would like to top up your fees to support SWIDN further, you can do so here.

SWIDN membership is open to any person or organisation who state they are working on the SDGs. SWIDN is not a regulatory body and it does not monitor, regulate or endorse the actions, outputs or views of its members. You can read more about some of our members here.

What are the benefits of membership?

We offer a number of membership benefits - please see the table below for the full range of benefits available.

We have tiered membership fees, starting at £50/yr for individuals or for consultants and priced according to income for organisations. You or your organisation must be based in the South West to be eligible for our membership. Please see the buttons below for the different categories of membership including prices.

Joining the network

We are open to members from the South West and beyond, offering a 'Friend of SWIDN' membership category to any member located outside the South West.

When you join, your membership will be set up as an annually recurring subscription that will be paid via the same card payment method on the same date each year. We'll send you a reminder email at least 2 weeks before a renewal payment is taken so that you can update payment details if you need or cancel in good time.

All membership registrations will be reviewed before approval to check that applicants are contributing to the delivery of the SDGs.
